The PTA board would like to say " Welcome Back!! We are so excited to be starting another year of school. (The summer just FLEW by, didn't it?) We hope that all of you have had a great summer and will be ready to jump in to make this year the best ever.
Our goal for the 2008-09 School Year is 100% participation in PTA that means there is at least ONE PTA member for EVERY family with a child/ren enrolled in our school. Historically our membership has had pretty low numbers which means that we are limited in what we can do for the school. We are striving for one loud voice from the parents of Garden Lakes kids! We can't do it without you, so join the fun as we kick off the:
2008 All Star Membership Drive !
How's it Work?
We've divided the school into teams each grade is a team working together to hit Home Runs. When a classroom reaches 100% participation - one PTA member for each student in the class - the class earns a HOME RUN for their team. (When a parent signs up, each of their children get to count the membership for the contest we are measuring per family, not per child.)
The Team with the MOST home runs between August 4 th and October 1 st will win the Series and will get a SNOCONE PARTY !
What do you have to do?
Join! Fill out the membership form and join your PTA. Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Older Siblings, Friends, Neighbors & even students you name it EVERYONE is eligible to join.
Why?
Because your kids will benefit! The school will benefit too! Studies show that kids whose parents participate in the PTA do better academically and socially than those who don't.
